3 Case management

SurveyCTO helps track and manage cases. It is, indeed, possible to register participants in a project that automatically assigns them unique case identifiers, which can be used to track this case over time. This is particularly useful for projects where people benefit from multiple activities/services offered by the same NGO, and for which individual rather than collective monitoring is required. The list of cases is not static: each and every form can be updated and it is possible to add a case.

In this section, you will find a tutorial on case management in SurveyCTO: creating a cases dataset, loading data from a form to this cases dataset, loading data from the cases dataset to a new form, modification of an existing case from a form, rewriting in the cases dataset, closing cases.

Tutorial on Case management

Scenario on case management and user-based access control:

The Humanitarian Aid and International Development organisation Terre des animaux has deployed SurveyCTO in the field. Said organisation set up a data collection system with animal tracking (case management). Monitoring is carried out as follows:

  1. When a new animal is identified, an educator (enumerator) completes the Registration Form.
  2. The animal is recorded in the cases dataset.

⇒ From that moment on, the information relating to this animal must only be visible (on the SurveyCTO Collect application) by the enumerator and his or her supervisor. The other enumerators and supervisors should not see this animal appear in the case list on the app.
